Beginner Mats -- We recommend using ONLY washable markers!

Manners Come Naturally (Monkey) Mat

This basic mat is designed for etiquette beginners! It has a simple place setting on the front and the back provides great space for drawing. 


  • Encourage story telling through colorful scribbles and pictures.  
  • Find simple objects for children to copy to begin honing their skills of artistic expression!

Blessings

This basic mat has a simple place setting and room to draw on the back. The drawing area focuses on learning shapes and colors. 

  • Ask your child to draw a particular shape in multiple colors.
  • Ask your child to draw shapes in a specific color.
  • Solicit stories from your child about the shapes and how the new "characters" they have created interact.

Around Town (Trucks)

This fun mat has a lot happening! Both sides have lots of opportunties for play and interaction.

  • Talk about what each vehicle does. How fast does it go? What is each vehicle's mission? How can we help others?
  • Create stories about where each vehicle is headed.
  • Ask your child to point out objects by color.

On the back

  • Teach the alphabet. Ask them to say each letter out loud, write each letter on a separate piece of paper, call out letters and ask them to point to that letter.
  • Ask for your child to find something in the room that begins with each letter.
  • Ask your child to find the letters in their name or the names of other family members.
  • Ask your child to spell words out loud.
  • Talk about what happens in each building on the street.

This sweet mat is the perfect conversation starter about birds and nature and to discuss mother birds and how they take care of their babies

Polite Pirate

This intermediate mat adds more utensils and has a very educational back for a little older learner. Pirate stories are a fun way to pass time in the kitchen!


On the back

  • Identify and learn to spell the continents.
  • Identify each "beast of burden". Ask your child to find a new fact about each continent once a week.
  • Teach your child what a map is and how it was used prior to GPS!
  • Teach longitude and latitude. 
  • Teach the hemispheres.
  • Discuss the seasons and why they occur at different times of the year in each hemisphere.


Polite Princess

Princesses are polite and smart! There is no end to princess stories here.


On the back

  • Play the Smart Princess math game. 
  • Provide your child with a piece of paper and ask them to write down each equation as they move around the mat. For example, 2 + 3 = 5.

Santa I Have Good Manners

Everyone needs something special at the holidays that only comes out for a few weeks (Or maybe every day is a holiday at  your house!


  • On the back is pure fun decorating holiday cookies.
  • Ask your child to tell you stories about the cookie people!

Football

Our sport mats are a must for the little mascot in your house. More schools are being added all the time!


  • On the back play the football math game.
  •  Provide your child with a piece of paper and ask them to write down each equation as they move around the mat. For example, 5 + 10 = 15.

Ok, now your child is ready to become a table manners pro. This mat shows all the utensils your child will probably see.


On the back is a US geography lesson waiting to happen!

  • Learn each state.
  • Learn each capital.
  • Learn to spell them all.
  • Learn about the major bodies of water that border our country.

This circus mat is a mate to the blue circus mat, just in a different palette. The back is the world geography map so take a look at  the pirate mat activities above.
